Our Destiny Our Future Foundation was founded in memory of Destiny McClain, whose life was marked by love, compassion, generosity, and a heart for others. Destiny had a smile that lit up a room and a personality to match it. She was loving, caring, nurturing, and selfless, often putting the needs of others before her own. The Foundation carries those qualities forward by creating opportunities, supporting children and families, serving the community, and advocating for victims and their loved ones.

Our Destiny Our Future Foundation honors the life and legacy of Destiny McClain by creating opportunities for students, individuals, and families through education, community support, advocacy, and outreach. Through scholarships, foster-care support, service initiatives, and awareness efforts, we work to turn loss into life, hope, opportunity, and giving.

We envision communities where people have access to educational opportunity and meaningful support, children and families are met with compassion and resources, and victims and their loved ones are seen, heard, remembered, and supported.

Our work reflects the many ways Destiny cared for others and the Foundation’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, families, victims, and the community.

We provide scholarships to help students pursue higher education and invest in their future. Through educational support, we seek to open doors, recognize determination, and give young people opportunities to continue growing and achieving their goals.

We support children and young people in foster care and families in the community through back-to-school initiatives, holiday giving, and other outreach efforts. Our goal is to provide practical support while reminding those we serve that their community sees and cares about them.

We provide compassionate support, information, and resource referrals to victims and surviving families. When a need falls outside the services we provide, we connect individuals and families with other organizations and community resources that may be able to help.

We bring attention to victims, unresolved cases, and the experiences of surviving families through public speaking, media engagement, press conferences, community events, and collaboration with other families and advocates. In September 2026, Destiny’s mother, Brenda Gilliam, a Volunteer Advocate with Arizona Voice for Crime Victims, worked with Arizonans for Effective Public Safety and participated in a press conference at the Arizona State Capitol, representing Destiny and supporting greater awareness and resources for unresolved homicide and missing-person cases. The following day, Arizona issued a proclamation recognizing September 20–26 as Unresolved Case Awareness Week and the month of September as National Cold Case Month. We believe every victim matters, every family deserves to be heard, and unresolved cases should not be forgotten.

We participate in community efforts that help young people understand the real-life consequences of gun violence and the impact their choices can have on themselves, their families, victims, and the wider community. Destiny’s mother, Brenda Gilliam, served on a victim-impact panel for Project S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness and Firearms Education), speaking with juveniles on probation for nonviolent gun offenses about the effects of gun violence on families and communities. Developed by the Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County’s Juvenile Court and Probation Departments, Project S.A.F.E. combines digital learning, peer support, mentorship, victim-impact education, credible-messenger panels, and family participation to reduce gun violence and help young people build safer, more hopeful futures 

We work alongside schools, foster-care organizations, businesses, nonprofits, advocates, and community partners to expand resources, strengthen outreach, and create greater impact together.

Our Destiny Our Future Foundation is more than an organization created in Destiny’s name. It is a continuation of the way she lived: loving people, caring for others, giving without expecting anything in return, and bringing light into the lives around her. Every scholarship awarded, every child supported, every family helped, and every voice raised through our advocacy allows Destiny’s legacy to continue creating good in the world.
